Secretary’s Report – August 2020

The backlog of new member processing developed during the COVID-19 shutdown has been addressed with an accelerated schedule through July. The processing functions of Investigation, Orientation, and Initiation were modified for compliance with social distancing requirements. Although the new member processing backlog has been addressed, the dues delinquency for current members remains high. This can also be attributable to COVID-19. If you are delinquent, consider becoming current. Barring any state-wide setbacks, Lodge meetings return to a normal schedule this month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6:30. No doubt social distancing requirements will be in place, so please stay abreast of updates via the Eblasts that are being routinely sent out. If you are not on the Eblast list, please contact
the office at 923-5525. Given the continually changing requirements, this is the most efficient way for the Lodge to keep you current.

When you do visit the Lodge, please be aware of COVID-19 restriction requirements that are in place and help us help you stay well. The restrictions are well,
restrictions, so normal activity is not normal, but they are in place to at least let us enjoy some level of activity which will progress if we do not become careless and cause a setback. Please kokua.

Note that a recent spike in positive virus testing has been cause for the State Health Department and Liquor Commission to step up monitoring of establishments, issue warnings, and shut down those that do not respond properly. Let the Lodge not be one of those.

Aloha e a hui hou,
Secretary George West
